Lately, I’ve started to simplify my life by imposing simple rules. These are things that I just do throughout the course of my day.
I don’t have to think about them anymore or decide whether I’m really going to get to them today — it’s not a choice for me anymore on these core items. The decision to make these mandatory is liberating and has freed time and worries from my mind. Those decisions are already made: I’m going to follow these rules I’ve laid down. Period.
And because I’m following these rules without question or second-guessing I can spend more time on other, more complicated, matters.
